SPLAT Festival

SPLAT officially stands for Schools Project Leamington Arts & Theatre, and was the name voted on by the children in the festival management group for their festival.

The day will be outdoors in Jephson Gardens, and will be a great mixture of children’s performances, an art gallery, stalls and activities to take part in, professional performances, games and fun across all different art forms.

More information will be added here as it’s decided by the Festival Management Group over the coming months, including schedules, maps and activities on offer or why not sign-up to our updates on the home page.

Schedule for the day

All the events at the SPLAT festival are FREE, although there will be some donations buckets if you’ve had a great time!! So just turn up between 11am and 4pm, to watch and join in with the live performances. If some events are really popular, we may ask you to put your name down to come back at a certain time, so you get the best experience. All our schools performances will take place in the Marquee, collect a free badge to go in, why not try and collect all the colours by seeing everything!

Craft Activities

ARTventurers & Jayne Hughes

We have two really exciting craft areas that you can join in with on the day, one for under 6’s and one for those over 6 years.

ARTventurers (under 6) will have around 6 different art, creative & slightly messy play activities which to engage imagination and enthuse creativity but also provide an opportunity to take home a little masterpiece and keepsake from the day!

Jayne Hughes will be based in the Art Gallery space, and is using inspiration from our forthcoming Mead Gallery exhibition, Kaleidoscope.  You can get hands on making your own Looking Glass, which you can use around the site, to see the effect on your design and colour choices on different surfaces, or you can add it to an on-going display being created throughout the day.  There will also be a selection of coloured and shaped pieces of Perspex, which you can put together in your own design on our Gallery wall to create a unique design.  Why not photograph it and create a memory from the day to share with friends!

Arts Gallery & Stalls Area

11am – 4pm

Just join in on the day, but if it’s really busy you may have to wait.

HMS Cupcake

We are a fully mobile bakery and coffee ‘house’ brewing local and independently sourced espresso and baking up home-made treats that are inspired by traditional british baking - with a few modern twists. Its home made with love from scratch, nothing in a packet, with ingredients that we choose carefully. We serve it with big smiles, from our one-of-a-kind vintage van called Gloria.

There’s always vegan and gluten-free options and sometimes we like to challenge the tastebuds... our signature cupcake 'The Elvis' combines peanut butter, banana, jelly, bacon and maple syrup. Why not give it a try – what’s the worst that could happen?!?!

Inflatables & Games

Company: Juice Sound & Light

No Festival is complete without bouncy castles and games, and these are all free for you to enjoy!  We’ll have a Jungle bouncy castle, inflatable obstacle course with slide, along with some traditional fete games like Tin Can Alley and an Angry Birds Game.
