Creative Learning Team Update: Arts Active Network Project

The Festival Management Group students from our Arts Active Network project have been out and about in Leamington Spa this week to visit their chosen site for SPLAT Festival Fun – Jephson Gardens!

The TechnicalFront of House and Marketing departments from each of the five schools came together to plot out the site map and make some big decisions about layout. Armed with tape measures, tent pegs, mallets and hazard tape, they went to work in plotting out what will go where on the day. They pegged out the performance marquee, picnic area, information point, market stall area, toilets and most importantly the bouncy castle and ice cream van areas!

The Marketing team also roamed the whole of the Gardens to map out exactly what signage will be needed on the day. With the knowledge that the Leamington Carnival will be taking place on the same day, just across the road in the Pump Room Gardens, the team made big plans to use bold signs and a clever ‘balloon hunt’ to entice the carnival audience through the Jephson Gardens gates and into the SPLAT Festival!

Now that they have decided on a programme and created their site plan and onsite marketing strategy, the festival is starting to take shape… now where can we find the child friendly and reasonably priced rollercoaster and fireworks that the Festival Management Group have at the top of their ‘must have’ list?!
